Interplan was in charge for the design and construction supervision of the new amercian store and showrooms of Kiton, an Italian high fashion brand in a strong international expansion phase. The project was concerned with the newly bought building in New York, formerly a bank headquarters. The building is located in the hearth of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, and it is dated 1900. The six story mansion was designed by the famous, neo-renaissance inspired architects McKim, Mead and White. The building, and particularly its façade on 54th Street, is protected by the local Landmark Commission, requiring special attention during design in order to preserve its original quality.
In addition to architecture, the project dealt with the design of the lighting system and of the complete interior design, specially conceived for Kiton.
